Detailed Description
Echos Color is Echosline's permanent colour system for professional colourists, and Indigo Corrector is a concentrated deep blue mix tone that neutralises orange and brassy warmth, especially in darker brunettes. The rich cream is free from PPD (para-phenylenediamine) and resorcinol and is 100% vegan, with high shine and long-lasting results.
For shade Indigo: No - Indigo is a concentrated mix tone, not a stand-alone shade, so it does not cover grey on its own. Grey coverage comes from the base shade you add it to.
Care ingredients are built into the colour cream: green tea extract acts as an antioxidant, tsubaki (camellia) oil helps protect and add shine, and date oil helps remineralise the hair, so colour looks vibrant and feels soft.
All Echos shades are intermixable, so Indigo can be combined with other Echos shades, correctors and Clear to create bespoke tones. Other Echos shades, correctors and superlighteners are available as separate products at Zilion.

Best Suited For
- Professional hairdressers and colour technicians
- Neutralising orange and brassy warmth, especially in darker brunettes
- Toning and pastel work on pre-lightened hair
- Salons looking for a vegan, PPD-free and resorcinol-free colour line
How to Use
- Carry out an allergy alert (patch) test 48 hours before EVERY colour service, even if the client has used hair colour before, and a strand test to confirm the result.
- Put on suitable gloves. Weigh the colour and developer into a non-metallic bowl. Mixing Indigo: Add Indigo to a mixed Echos colour or toner formula. Start with a few grams per 50g of colour, using less on lighter levels, and follow the Echosline colour chart. Include the corrector's weight when measuring developer at 1:1.5.
- Toning / pre-lightening: Indigo does not lift on its own. For toning or pastel work on pre-lightened hair, add it to a light Echos shade or Clear and mix 1:3 with 7 vol developer, processing 5-15 minutes and checking visually.
- Apply to dry, unwashed hair with a tint brush - to the regrowth for retouches, or roots to ends for a virgin application according to the technique required.
- Processing time: the same as the base shade it is mixed into (30-35 minutes for standard shades); toning on pre-lightened hair 5-15 minutes. Do not use heat unless specified by the manufacturer.
- Emulsify with a little warm water, rinse thoroughly, then shampoo and condition with a colour-care shampoo and mask.
Directions & Safety Information
- For professional use only. Read and follow the instructions and warnings on the pack.
- Hair colourants can cause severe allergic reactions. Carry out an allergy alert (skin patch) test 48 hours before every use, even if you have used this or another hair colour before.
- Although Echos Color is formulated without PPD (para-phenylenediamine) and resorcinol, oxidative hair dyes contain other dye precursors (aromatic amines) that can cause allergic reactions; people with a known allergy to PPD or hair dye may also react to this product. If in doubt, do not use and seek medical advice.
- Do not use if the client has a rash on the face, a sensitive, irritated or damaged scalp, has ever had a reaction after colouring their hair, or has had a reaction to a temporary black henna tattoo. Temporary black henna tattoos may increase the risk of allergy.
- Not intended for use on persons under 16 years of age.
- Do not use to dye eyelashes or eyebrows - this may cause blindness.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product enters the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water and seek medical advice. Rinse hair well after application.
- Wear suitable gloves when mixing, applying and rinsing.
- Contains hydrogen peroxide once mixed with developer: avoid skin and eye contact and use in a well-ventilated area.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately (NZ Poisons Centre 0800 764 766).
- Mix immediately before use, use a non-metallic bowl and brush, and discard any unused mixture - never store mixed colour in a closed container.
- Store tubes tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
