About Layrite
Layrite was built for barbers, and the products are designed around the way they work. Every styler in the range is water-based, which means it spreads evenly, can be reworked through the day with a comb, and washes out at night without the stubborn residue left by oil and wax pomades. For anyone who loves a classic slick-back but hates scrubbing pomade out of the pillowcase, that is the whole point.
The styling line is easy to read once you know the two variables: hold and shine. Natural Matte Cream and Original Pomade give medium hold, one matte and one with a natural shine. Supershine Cream gives strong hold with a high-gloss finish. Superhold Pomade gives extra-strong hold for thick, coarse or curly hair, and Cement gives extreme hold with a clean matte finish. Superhold Pomade steps up the hold for hair that will not behave. Supershine Cream suits fine to medium hair that wants a sleek, glossy finish. What is the difference between the aftershave and the aftershave balm?
No 9 Bay Rum Aftershave is a fragranced splash. Aftershave Balm is a lightweight cream that soothes, calms redness and hydrates skin, so it suits dry or sensitive skin better.
What is Layrite Liquid Cream Shave?
Liquid Cream Shave is a shaving cream in a 118ml tube. It softens facial hair and helps the razor glide, reducing irritation and razor burn.

Damp hair gives a smoother spread and more shine; dry hair gives more hold and texture. Cement and Natural Matte Cream are often applied to dry or nearly dry hair for a matte finish.
How much Layrite should I use?
Start with an amount about the size of a fingertip for short hair and add more only if you need it. Thick or long hair takes a little more.

Can I use Layrite Liquid Cream Shave with a safety razor?
Yes. It works with cartridge, safety and straight razors. Apply a thin layer to damp skin and shave with the grain first.
Can I mix Layrite products?
Yes, barbers often do. A little Cement mixed with Natural Matte Cream gives a stronger matte hold, and Grooming Spray underneath any pomade adds volume.
Which Layrite is best for a pompadour?
