About Our Body Wash Collection
Most body washes are built around the same idea: mild surfactants to lift sweat, oil and grime, plus something to keep skin comfortable afterwards. The differences lie in what else goes in. Hydrating washes add glycerin, oils and humectants; Arata Hydrating Body Wash, for example, uses glycerin with Aquaxyl and Prodew 600. Exfoliating washes add salicylic, glycolic or lipohydroxy acid (LHA) to clear pores and smooth bumpy skin, as in Arata Smoothening and Minimalist Salicylic Acid + LHA 2%.
Then there is fragrance and format. Some washes are about scent, from Baxter of California's citrus and herbal musk to Captain Fawcett's Booze and Baccy and the Brillare coconut range in coffee, lavender, mint, rose and saffron. Others are soap-free and pH-balanced for sensitive skin, such as Angel En Provence Helichrysum Bath Creme. Hydrating and nourishing. Arata Hydrating Body Wash is made for skin that feels dry or tight after showering. Davines OI Body Wash uses roucou oil, sunflower oil and glycerin, and Davines Authentic Cleansing Nectar is an oil-textured cleanser for hair and body. How to Use Body Wash
Wet your skin with warm rather than hot water, which strips natural oils. Squeeze a small amount onto your hands, a loofah or a washcloth and work it into a lather over the body, paying attention to areas that get sweaty. Rinse thoroughly. Exfoliating washes work best left on the skin for a minute or two, but use them a few times a week rather than every day if your skin is sensitive. Pat dry and apply a moisturiser within a few minutes to lock in hydration. Replace loofahs and sponges regularly, as they hold moisture and bacteria.
