About Hair Dryer Accessories
Most professional dryer accessories are model specific. A Parlux 385 nozzle is shaped to click onto the 385, and an Alyon filter cover is made for the back of the Alyon, so the first step is always to check the model name on your dryer, usually printed on the handle or the body. Each product page here lists the dryers the part is made for.
Accessories fall into three groups. Concentrator nozzles focus the airflow into a flat stream for smoothing and polishing a blow-dry; narrow nozzles give precision and wide nozzles cover bigger sections of long or thick hair. Filter covers and filters sit at the back of the dryer and stop hair, hairspray and dust from reaching the motor. Comb attachments, diffusers and holders add new ways to style or store the dryer.

Caring for Your Hair Dryer
Unplug the dryer and let it cool before changing any attachment. Once a week, or more often in a salon, remove the filter cover and gently clear any lint, hair or dust from the filter, then refit it securely. Wipe nozzles and attachments with a damp cloth to remove product build-up. Never use a dryer without its filter cover in place, and replace any part that is cracked or broken. Store the dryer loosely coiled, or in a holder, rather than wrapping the cord tightly around the handle.

How often should I clean my hairdryer filter?
Clean it about once a week at home, or more often in a salon. Unplug the dryer, remove the cover and gently clear lint and hair.
Can I use my dryer without the filter cover?
No. Always use the dryer with its filter cover in place to protect the motor.
My dryer smells like burning. What should I do?
Turn it off and unplug it. A clogged filter is a common cause, so clean it once cool. If the smell continues, stop using the dryer and contact the manufacturer.
Why is my hairdryer getting too hot?
