About Black Hair Colour
Professional colour charts number black as level 1, the darkest level, with the figure after the point or slash describing the tone. In Color On's 1.1 Blue Black the .1 adds a blue, ash reflect; in Natural Look's 2/7 Ink Blue Black the 2 means very dark brown-black and the /7 adds the ink-blue tone. Joico uses letters instead, so 1N is Natural Black, 1VV is Violet Violet Black and 1BS is Blue Silver Black.
